Frequently asked questions

Is AI-900 a technical exam?

It is a vocabulary exam, like AZ-900 for AI. It asks what a workload type is, which Azure AI service fits a described need, and what responsible AI principles mean. No code, no notebooks, no model tuning.

AI-900 or AZ-900 first?

Either works. They share the fundamentals format and price, and neither assumes the other. Take AI-900 first if your work is near AI projects, AZ-900 first if it is near cloud generally.

Note on domain weightings

Microsoft publishes weightings as ranges. The figures here use midpoints of the official ranges from the current AI-900 study guide.
