Passing score
DP-100What it takes to pass Azure Data Scientist
The passing score for DP-100 is 700 on a scale of 1 to 1000. That is a scaled score rather than a percentage, which is the part most people read wrong.
A scaled 700 is not 70 percent
DP-100 reports results on a scale from 1 to 1000, and 700 is the line on that scale, not a percentage of questions. Microsoft Azure converts your raw performance to the scale with a model it does not publish, which weights questions by difficulty. Two candidates can answer the same number of questions correctly and land on different scaled scores.
That has one practical consequence: nobody outside Microsoft Azure can tell you exactly how many questions you can miss. Any site that gives you a precise miss budget is guessing. You can still practice against the line itself: our Azure Data Scientist practice exams score against the published 700, so a practice result reads the way the real one will.
