Every question here is verified against vendor documentation before it serves, which is why the count grows slowly.
Where to focus: Configuring access is the largest section at 25%, and adding boundary protection takes identity and network work to 47% of the exam together. Service accounts, IAM conditions and VPC Service Controls carry more marks than anything in the compliance section, which is 11%.

What the exam actually asks you to do
Multiple choice and multiple select, in Google's own words. No labs, no console access, and nothing to configure during the exam.
- Multiple choice
- Multiple response
Nothing here needs a lab. Reading carefully and eliminating options is the whole skill. Google Cloud, Professional Cloud Security Engineer exam details ↗
Cloud Security Engineer practice exams
No complete practice exam yet. A form is 50 questions apportioned to the official weightings, and a partial one would report a score that means nothing, so none is assembled until the questions are there.

Where Cloud Security Engineer fits
An honest study plan
1. Read the official objectives first
Download the official objectives from Google Cloud and skim every line. The exam can only test what’s listed there, it’s the contract.
2. Weight your study toward Configuring access and Ensuring data protection
Together the top two domains are 48% of the exam. Practice them until your accuracy is consistently above 80%.
3. Drill weak domains, then sit a numbered practice exam
Use Domain Drill on your weakest areas, then sit a full-length form under exam conditions: 50 questions in 120 minutes, scored against the published pass mark. Book the real exam when you are consistently clearing that, not before.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Professional Cloud Security Engineer exam cost?
$200 plus tax for 2 hours and 50 to 60 multiple choice and multiple select questions. Google sets no formal prerequisite but recommends 3 or more years of industry experience, including more than a year on Google Cloud.
What score do you need to pass?
Google does not publish one. The certification page, the exam guide, the certification terms and the help centre were all checked and none states a cut score. Your result comes back as pass or fail.
How is the exam weighted?
Google publishes the split: configuring access 25%, securing communications and boundary protection 22%, data protection 23%, managing operations 19%, and compliance 11%. Identity and network boundary work together are nearly half the exam.
How long does the certification last?
Two years, which is shorter than the three years Google gives its foundational and associate certifications. Renewal opens 60 days before expiry and means passing the exam again at full price.
What is new on this version of the exam?
Securing AI workloads is now its own sub-objective under data protection, covering controls for IaaS and PaaS hosted training models and for the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Privileged Access Manager and IAM deny policies also appear under access control.

Cloud Security Engineer is not for sale yet. A certification goes on sale when it has a complete practice exam behind it, and this one does not, so there is nothing here worth charging for. Everything published is free to answer in the meantime.
