What comes after passing
AWS certifications last three years. Recertifying means passing the current version of the exam, or a higher one in the same track, at full price. The 50 percent benefit voucher from your last pass applies.

What does DEA-C01 actually test?
Moving data through AWS: ingesting it with Kinesis or DMS, transforming it in Glue or EMR, storing it in S3, Redshift or DynamoDB, and keeping the pipelines observable and governed. Ingestion and transformation alone is 34% of the exam.
Do I need to know SQL and Python for it?
You read both. Questions show a Glue script, an Athena query or a partitioning scheme and ask why it is slow, wrong or expensive. Writing code is not tested; recognising what a snippet does is.
How does it relate to the retired Data Analytics Specialty?
DEA-C01 replaced that exam's territory at associate level with more pipeline building and less analytics theory. If you found study material for DAS-C01, the service coverage overlaps but the exam is its own blueprint.
