Frequently asked questions

What dominates AZ-400?

Pipelines, overwhelmingly: the build and release domain is over half the exam. YAML pipeline structure, environments and approvals, deployment strategies, agents, and artifact and package flows through Azure Artifacts and GitHub.

Azure DevOps or GitHub for the exam?

Both. Microsoft examines the concepts across Azure Pipelines and GitHub Actions, branch policies in both products, and GitHub Advanced Security alongside Defender for Cloud. Prep that ignores either product leaves marks behind.

Note on domain weightings

Microsoft publishes weightings as ranges. The figures here use midpoints of the official ranges from the current AZ-400 study guide.
