Azure Data Fundamentals practice exams

No complete practice exam yet. A form is 40 questions apportioned to the official weightings, and a partial one would report a score that means nothing, so none is assembled until the questions are there.

Where Azure Data Fundamentals fits

An honest study plan

  1. 1. Read the official objectives first

Download the official objectives from Microsoft Azure and skim every line. The exam can only test what’s listed there, it’s the contract.

  2. 2. Weight your study toward Describe core data concepts and Describe an analytics workload on Azure

Together the top two domains are 58% of the exam. Practice them until your accuracy is consistently above 80%.

  3. 3. Drill weak domains, then sit a numbered practice exam

Use Domain Drill on your weakest areas, then sit a full-length form under exam conditions: 40 questions in 45 minutes, scored against the published pass mark. Book the real exam when you are consistently clearing that, not before.

Frequently asked questions

Who is DP-900 for?

Anyone working near data on Azure who needs the vocabulary: what structured against semi-structured means, when SQL Database fits against Cosmos DB, and what the analytics services each do. It is the data sibling of AZ-900.

Does DP-900 require SQL knowledge?

Only reading-level familiarity. A question may show a simple SELECT or describe a table, and the exam cares that you recognise relational concepts rather than write production queries.

Note on domain weightings

Microsoft publishes weightings as ranges. The figures here use midpoints of the official ranges from the current DP-900 study guide.

Azure Data Fundamentals is not for sale yet. A certification goes on sale when it has a complete practice exam behind it, and this one does not, so there is nothing here worth charging for. Everything published is free to answer in the meantime.
