Two Ethernet segments are joined by a device that switches frames at the link layer. What does that imply for IP addressing on the two segments?

Concept
A device that relays frames without reading the network header does not create a boundary at the IP layer. Address planning follows the layer at which a device makes its decision, not the count of physical segments.
Why B
Link layer relaying leaves the IP header untouched, so hosts on either side reach each other through address resolution alone. One prefix therefore spans both cable runs, and nothing terminates it in the middle.
