ITIL 4 Foundation practice exams
No complete practice exam yet. A form is 40 questions apportioned to the official weightings, and a partial one would report a score that means nothing, so none is assembled until the questions are there.

What the exam tests
Exam domains
PeopleCert publishes no domain weighting for this exam, and sells the body of knowledge rather than publishing it. The five percentages here are ours, and we cannot cite a vendor page for them. Treat them as a rough study aid, not an official weighting.
The percentage is the exam weighting; the bar is how many verified questions we hold there, so a short bar is where our bank is thin.

Frequently asked questions
What score do I need to pass ITIL 4 Foundation?
26 correct out of 40 questions (65%) in 60 minutes, closed book. Non-native English speakers may receive extra time through the exam provider.
How are ITIL 4 Foundation questions distributed?
PeopleCert does not publish a weighting, so nobody outside the exam board can tell you the split with confidence. What is published is the shape: 40 questions in 60 minutes, and the practices carry more of them than any other area. Our domain percentages are our own estimate and are labelled that way.
Is ITIL 4 being retired?
Yes, on the current plan. PeopleCert has released ITIL Foundation (Version 5) and says in its own ITIL FAQ that it plans to sunset all ITIL 4 modules on 31 December 2027. Both versions sell today, and an ITIL 4 certificate you already hold does not stop being something you earned. If you are choosing between them now, weigh that date against how soon you need the certificate.
Is ITIL relevant for technical roles?
If you work anywhere near an ITSM tool (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management), ITIL vocabulary is the lingua franca, incidents vs problems, change enablement, SLAs. Foundation gives you that shared language quickly.
