What comes after passing
CompTIA certifications last three years. Renewal is either 30 CEUs plus the CompTIA continuing education fee across the cycle, or passing the current version of the exam again at full price.

Frequently asked questions
How hard is the Network+ N10-009 exam?
Network+ is a step up from A+, you'll need real comfort with subnetting, the OSI model, routing concepts, and troubleshooting methodology. The passing score is 720/900, the highest of CompTIA's core trio.
Should I take Network+ before Security+?
It's the classic path: A+ → Network+ → Security+. Security+ assumes networking fluency, so doing Network+ first makes Security+ substantially easier, but it isn't a formal prerequisite.
Does Network+ cover subnetting?
Yes, IPv4 addressing and subnetting are core to the Networking Concepts domain, and troubleshooting questions frequently hinge on recognizing a wrong mask or gateway.
