What the Associate Cloud Engineer exam looks like

Google Cloud states 50-60 questions for ACE, with a time limit of 120 minutes. That is about 2.4 minutes a question, including the time it takes to read the stem and the options.

Google Cloud publishes a range rather than a fixed count, so the pace above assumes the low end of it. At the top of the range you have less time a question.

Google Cloud does not publish a fixed passing score for ACE.

Four attempts in any two year period. After a failed attempt you wait 14 days, after a second 60 days, and after a third 365 days. A retake costs another $125.

Associate Cloud Engineer is valid for 3 years from the day you pass. Valid for three years. Renewal opens 180 days before expiry and can be done three ways: sitting the standard exam again, sitting the shorter 1 hour renewal exam at $75, or completing the designated courses and skill badges in the Google Skills renewal path. Associate certifications last three years. Renewing costs $75 for the shorter renewal exam or $125 for the standard exam again, and costs nothing beyond your time if you complete the designated courses and skill badges in the Google Skills renewal path. The 50 percent code from your last pass applies to either exam.
